Human hair toppers and mini wigs are partial-coverage hairpieces for crown thinning, a visible parting, localized hair loss or added volume when there is enough surrounding hair to blend. Choose by actual coverage area, base dimensions, front-hairline need, attachment, color, density and hair direction. Wider hair loss or full-hairline coverage may require a full medical wig instead.
On SHY Hair, “mini wig” is used for larger partial-coverage topper styles. It does not automatically mean a full-cap wig. Confirm the exact base construction and dimensions on each product.

Topper, mini wig or full wig?
A topper or mini wig may suit crown thinning, a widening part or localized top loss when enough suitable hair remains for blending. A full wig may be more appropriate when loss extends across the front hairline, sides, nape or most of the scalp. Read Medical Wig vs Hair Topper.
Attachment and remaining hair
Confirm whether the exact product uses clips, combs, tape, adhesive, elastic or another method. Clip-based pieces require suitable attachment hair and can place tension on fragile hair. If the scalp is injured, irritated, broken or under treatment—or if remaining hair is fragile—ask a qualified professional before choosing an attachment method.
Color, density and hair direction
Send daylight views of roots, mid-lengths and ends plus the crown/parting area. Confirm undertone, root depth, highlights, gray percentage, texture, length, density and intended parting. More density is not automatically more natural; it must blend with the surrounding hair.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a topper and a mini wig?
Both can describe partial coverage. On SHY Hair, mini wig is used for larger topper-style coverage. Confirm the dimensions, construction, coverage and attachment.
Is the 8×8 size inches or centimeters?
The current 8×8 topper series is described in inches. Other toppers may differ, so verify the exact product specification.
Can a topper cover a receding front hairline?
A crown-only topper may not. A confirmed front-lace plus topper construction may provide hairline detail; wider coverage may require a full wig.
Will clips work for every buyer?
No. Suitability depends on remaining hair, scalp comfort and routine. Confirm the exact attachment for the product.
When should I choose a full medical wig?
Choose a full-wig route when coverage is wide, the hairline/sides/nape need support or there is not enough suitable hair to blend.
